Renowned New York developer and accomplished triathlete Elie Hirschfeld turned in another sterling performance in the 30th Annual Central Park Triathlon, finishing first in the 65-69-year old age group!
The 68-year-old veteran of more than 80 top triathlon competitions outpaced the competition by turning in a sterling time of one hour and 21 minutes!
The competition included 300 top competitors, was fully conducted in New York’s iconic centerpiece and included a ¼ mile swim in Lasker Pool, a 12-mile bike ride consisting of two six-mile loops of the park and a three-mile run around the inner roadway of the park.
“I can think of no greater setting for an athletic event of this magnitude,” said Elie Hirschfeld. “I live across the street from the park on Fifth Avenue, so this was a particularly meaningful competition for me.
“The park is a showpiece for this city and a hotbed for athletes both for training and to test themselves against the best athletes in the world!”

Elie Hirschfeld will test himself against the best once again at the 5th Avenue Mile race in the Sheehan Memorial Mile for runners age 60 and over.
“New York is not only one of the greatest cities in the world, it’s the epicenter for great sports competition — and this race is a fantastic example,” Elie Hirschfeld remarked.
