Founded by the FDJ French Dressing company, a Montreal-based international company, Love Premium Denim is a line that is the first, and only, of its kind.
Made with 35% Lycra, the jeans are fashion forward and stylish, yet extremely comfortable. The denim line appeals to women of all sizes, and is designed to fit any silhouette. It is the only brand that incorporates Lycra into its denim, making it a unique and rare find.
At DOWNTOWN, we had the privilege of trying on a few pairs for ourselves. The jeans come in four different styles and are also available in petites. The is: the Suzanne, which is a regular-rise, straight leg jean that is also available in petites; the Olivia, a mid-rise jean with a slim leg, also available in petites; the Kylie, a low-rise with a slim-leg fit; and the jegging, which has the slimmest leg and fits like a legging, but looks like a jean. All the jeans come in dark wash, with the black wash just recently making its debut and plans for white denim to come this fall.
When I first tried on the Olivia, Love Premium’s mid-rise jean in black, I could immediately tell that they were different from any jeans I had purchased or worn before. I’m tall (at 5’10”) and a bit on the curvy side, so shopping for jeans (and pants in general), is usually a difficult task. The jeans fit me like a glove, and they slid on so easily! Usually, it’s a struggle for me to find jeans that fit more comfortably around the waist, and are also long enough. Surprisingly, the ones I tried are we almost too long, a feat in itself because I usually find myself buying long jeans.
We also got to sample both the jegging and the Kylie, the low-rise, slim fit jean and both were extremely comfortable and versatile.
Love Premium Denim is also unique in that it donates a portion of its proceeds to breast cancer organizations, and actually names its denim after breast cancer survivors. Each pair costs $135, and can be found online or various boutiques and stores across the United States.
