Despite its gallery-esque appearance, Anthom strives to be anything but pretentious. The women’s brick-and-mortar store’s minimal aesthetic is illustrated in its practical pieces appropriate for everyday wear.

Even if you don’t give off an effortless cool à la Rumi Neely, Anthom has something for you.

“Once someone gets to Anthom, they look inside and think, ‘Oh wow. The pieces are so edgy.’ And then they look around and try on the pieces, and they realize that they can easily get away with wearing them,” said co-founder of Anthom, Ashley Turchin.

Turchin and her business partner handpick every piece in the store according to their philosophy of less is more. The Anthom definition of a statement piece is all about high quality and subtlety (we’re looking at you, Front Cut Slip Culottes).

“When we think about women who shop at Anthom, she doesn’t have to think about it. Everything is comfortable and wearable,” Turchin said.

Anthom’s commitment to its aesthetic takes the store’s offerings beyond the scope of the U.S. The store carries new and emerging designers oftentimes unknown in the States. Turchin said that Anthom even works exclusively with designers to make special items for the store.

Although Anthom sells both affordable and investment pieces, the store prides itself in its quality items that are available at a reasonable price.

Silk tops and natural linen pants are a few of the many affordable high quality pieces (they’re available for less than $200!).

“It’s important to know that you can buy high fashion pieces for a lower price point,” Turchin said.

Below are Turchin’s favorite in her store’s current collection.
