“This was a stupendous event that demonstrated the Y’s ability to evolve and grow with the world around it and remain as viable and important to the New York community as it has ever been over it’s long and proud history,” said attendee and 92nd Street Y supporter, Dr. Richard Firshein.

The 92Y serves people of all ages and backgrounds, enriching lives and creating communities both locally and globally.

The gala supported a range of vital programs, including 92Y’s educational outreach program, which brings the arts to 16,000 NYC public school children, and our scholarship program, which enables children, adults and seniors with limited means to participate in activities like 92Y’s summer camps, seniors programs, classes and more.

The benefit also helps 92Y to continue bringing today’s best thinkers, writers, artists and leaders to a broader audience than ever before through live event webcasts and a free digital archive.

The Y also supports new initiatives like #GivingTuesday and 7 Days of Genius, which use technology and strategic partnerships to bring people together – regardless of geography – around big ideas, civic involvement and social good.

The 92nd Street Y has become a community landmark. It is an amazing place where people of all ages, ethnicities, and faiths come together through art and culture to build a stronger community,” said Dr. Firshein.

“I’m proud to have been a part of this event and others that support this worthwhile instituation and allow it to continue to serve New York’s cultural and community needs.”
