Celebrating Pride with Rainbow Dumplings From MEGU

by | Jun 26, 2017 | Dining

Pride month is inspiring everyone to grace their lives in rainbow technicolor.  As we mentioned earlier this month, MEGU New York has added Rainbow Vegan Hargow Dumplings to its June menu to celebrate!  The dish was created by their Executive Chef Frances Tariga, who is also a Top Chef alum and a Cutthroat Kitchen winner.

We had the opportunity to attend their final dumpling making class this past Saturday, and it was incredible. Not only did we learn to make multiple delicious dumplings, we made the dough as well. The vibrant color comes from 100% natural juice extracted from vegetables. Attendees learned from scratch how to make the rainbow dumplings, as well as the folding methods of many other traditional style dumplings, under the supervision of the dumpling “si fu,” or “master.”  We laughed, we drank and we conquered all while eating what we created.

While this was a seasonal class, Megu also offers sushi making classes on a regular basis.

Megu is located at 355 West 16th Street.
