The Apollo Theater will present the Women of the World Festival (WOW) June 11 to 14 at the Apollo, the City College of New York and selected restaurants in Harlem.

In association with the Southbank Centre London, WOW celebrates women from all backgrounds with over 80 events, including performances, discussions and workshops. The festival aims to encourage exchanges about women empowerment that transcend cultural, civic and social boundaries.

Since its founding in 2011, WOW has become the largest festival network that fosters cultural and social dialogues in five continents.

Highlights of the festival include performances by Macy Grey and Malaysian pop star, Yuna; a talk with Emmy Award winner Iyanla Vanzat, known as the host of Lyanla, Fix My Life; and the discussion Feminism Now led by leaders in feminist activism, including bestselling author Naomi Wolf.

The various events have the same objective to provide a medium for women to share and celebrate their achievements. Although the festival is targeted towards women, WOW is opened to people of all ages and gender identities.

Detailed program information is available online on the Apollo Theater’s website.

Tickets can be purchased at the Apollo Theater Box Office online and via Ticketmaster at (800) 745 – 3000 and on its website.
