1. Urban Voices In Art
Check site for venue locations (Lower Manhattan)
Saturday, Apr. 8 – Saturday, May 20 (check site for showtimes)

Downtown Urban Arts Festival is an annual arts event that promotes “diversity in the arts by showcasing urban expression”. The performances — poetry, music, theater and film — represent a rich variety of voices speaking out about the trials and tribulation of urban life. Tickets start at $12.

2. Tartan Gastropub
Highlands (West Village)
Nightly

On Apr. 6, New York celebrates National Tartan Day with its annual parade through Sixth Avenue. After we’ve had our fill of bagpipes, kilts and dancing, we’re heading to West Village’s ultra-cool Scottish gastropub, Highlands. With an extensive list of whiskeys, malts, and cocktails as well as a modern spin on traditional dishes such as the haggis, neeps and tatties and beef wellington, we think this is pretty great way to celebrate Scotland in New York.

3. Fancy Easter Eggs
Ukrainian Museum (East Village)
Sunday, Apr. 9 from 11:00AM to 1:00 AM & 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

You won’t find pastels at this two-hour Easter egg decorating workshop. Participants will learn about and practice traditional Ukrainian Easter egg decorating, pysanky. Using wax, dyes and a stylus, to etch out symbolic Slavic motifs, you’ll want to keep all your eggs in one basket. $15.

4. Casual Chef’s Club
Chef’s Club Counter (SoHo)
Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm

Fine and fast, that’s the concept behind the new casual spin-off, the Chef’s Club. Chef’s Club Counter will feature a rotating menu of specialty dishes from famous chefs in a more laid back setting that won’t break the bank. Expect signature dishes from Alvin Cailan, Eric Kayser, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, George Mendes, Linton Hopkins and Magnus Hansson.

5. Parker Sample Sale
260 Sample (SoHo)
Tuesday, Apr. 4 through Sunday, Apr. 9 (check site for times)

Parker is synonymous with an easy elegance. Flowy dresses, stylish tops or graceful bottoms, stock up on these trendy threads and your spring and summer days and nights will surely be memorable.

6. Havana Film Festival
Check site for complete list of venues
Thursday, Mar. 30 through Friday, Apr. 7 (check site for showtimes)

The Havana Film Festival New York is the perfect opportunity to get the know the voices of Cuban and Latin American cinema. This year we look forward to screening Estaban, Amparame!, Últimos Días En La Habana, Ya No Es Antes and Sharing Stella. Tickets start at $10, with some FREE events.

7. Breaking Bad Pop-Up Restaurant
243 Pearl St (Financial District)
Sunday, Apr. 9 & Monday, Apr. 10 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Breaking Bad’s infamous restaurant Los Pollos Hermanos will be serving breakfast tacos, burgers, burritos, fried chicken and who knows what else… The two-day pop-up is to help promote Gustavo Fring’s appearance on Better Call Saul.
