Here are some exciting events and sites to check out in downtown New York this week, courtesy of Gogobot. Visit the website or download the app for more GoGo This Week upcoming events.

1. Wood Fired Goodness
Pasquale Jones (Nolita)
Tues-Sat for dinner

Charlie Bird fans will definitely want to try the team’s new wood-burning brick oven spot Pasquale Jones. The menu is short, which means the chefs put all their energy into perfecting each and every dish. While the pastas are outstanding, we can’t resist the meats, fish, vegetables and pizzas, piping hot and delicious, that come out of the wood-fired oven. Go for the Charred Cauliflower, Little Neck Clam Pizza or the Pork Shank P.S. This is a no tipping restaurant.

2. Car Free NY
Washington Square Park and additional locations
Fri, Apr 22nd

During the first annual Car Free NYC event, major areas of the city (the streets around Washington Square Park, Broadway between Union Square and the Flatiron Building, and four blocks on Wadsworth Avenue in Washington Heights) will be closed to traffic. Instead, New Yorkers can enjoy one free Citi Bike Ride (with sign up) and full-day passes for the New York Water Taxi (for riders with a NYC Municipal ID).

3. 9/11 Memorial Run
Pier 26 (Tribeca)
Sun, Apr 24th at 8am

The annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk supports the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. The run is followed by a Community Day event on Greenwich St. with food trucks, activities and music. Registration prices start at $20 and include Bib N’ Brunch specials, a free movie ticket and other perks.

4. Yumi Kim Pop-Up
40 Prince Street (Nolita)
Mon-Sat from 12-8pm; Sun from 12-7pm (Through April 30th)

Yumi Kim has set up shop in Nolita through Apr 30th and is practically giving away its signature light, flowy, floral and geometric silk rompers, dresses tops and bottoms. With up to 80% off we are going to update our entire spring and summer look.

5. The Lord of the Rings Parody
The PIT (Flatiron)
Fri, Apr 22nd at 8pm

Since we are the last people on earth who have not read “The Lord of the Rings,” we think “Fly You Fools,” a parody of the first chapter in the trilogy might be our gateway into the series. Die-hard Ring-sters this three will be quite impressed with this part spoof, part tribute comedy show. spring-18880_960_720
