Love your tiny bodegas and mom-and-pop restaurants?
#SAVENYC is holding a fundraising crawl to help small businesses that need it, especially after the Second Avenue explosion. During the fundraising event, participants will be walking along the streets of New York while purchasing items from classic small businesses. By doing this, they are attempting to help out financially and draw attention to to businesses that are suffering from the rise of chain stores and disasters.
The event will kick off at 12 p.m. at GEM Spa (on the corner of Second Avenue and St. Mark’s Place) to purchase items such as magazines, cigarettes, and egg creams. If you’re interested in attending, take a look at the list of small businesses that they’ll be stopping at. *
