Today marks the beginning of New York’s Fall/Winter Fashion Week for 2015, and what an exciting day it is! The event of the night looks to be Prada’s collaboration with Australian born Oscar-nominated American Hustle costume designer Michael Wilkinson, and his husband and business partner, architect and set designer Tim Martin.

Miuccia Prada, fashion designer and co-cheif executive of the Italian luxury fashion house, is handing over creative control of Prada’s SoHo store to Wilkinson and Martin, who will transform the shop into a stylish club. Opening tonight, the club will display 24 outfits they have designed which have been manufactured in the Prada workshops in Milan.

With the “Iconoclasts” concept launching in 2009, this collaboration is Prada’s latest installation. However, this is significant as it is the first time Prada has ventured outside of the immediate fashion world, selecting costume designers rather than famous fashion stylists for the occasion. Mrs. Prada chose three talented costume designers to interpret her 2015 spring-summer collection for the fashion house’s stores in London, Paris and New York.

Mr. Wilkinson and Mr. Martin were were hand selected by Mrs. Prada to reinterpret the brand’s Spring 2015 collection for installation at the Prada store, located at 575 Broadway in SoHo. Opening tonight on the first night of NYFW, like most fashion week events admittance is invitation only, but if you’re in the area you may as well pass by!
